They are the backbone of their families as well as of our nation. Today is a day dedicated in their name and we must all respect them not only today but everyday. Low-key I feel the service given by this department during this crisis is less appreciated and more criticised which any police officer of this nation do not deserve.
Every day is a scary day with increasing risk outside but people who are helping and putting all the efforts to implement better social distancing by risking themselves DO NOT DESERVE to get hurt by the same crowd they’re trying to protect.
Some people think I am a kind of supporter of this department because my father works in it, to be honest I would respect any department who is working hard during this tough time for people who aren’t eligible to understand the importance of staying home.
I sometimes hate the civilians/citizens of this country because my parent is walking on these streets asking them to stay home which is not very tough. So why appointments are needed to ask them to do so? Are people so irresponsible to understand to harm or damage? Or the medical or police department are dumb trying to do something about this pandemic and trying to reduce its effect. I don’t understand and sometimes I don’t want to. But seeing every policemen loving his job and working hard when everyone are asked to stay home, I understand, I understand the importance of this department as well as the resisibilities.
Encountering 18 years of a policemen and being able to be introduced to many others, the only thing I can say is MASSIVE RESPECT. Massive respect for there presence on duty even on days when every person is busy celebrating Holi, Diwali, Baisakhi, Onam, Durga Pooja, etc with family.
I remember my father FaceTiming me or video calling me on my birthdays when he was not able to attend it as he used to be posted somewhere else. I’ve heard a lot since I was a child that,” police walo Kai bachhe bade bigade hue hote hai” I never answered anyone but just one thought use to come in my mind and that used to be, “Aur agar police wale hi nahi hote to diwali par ghar par patakhe kaise le jate?”
There are different emotions at different times but the only constant thing is RESPECT for them.
So a salute for every police officer I met or didn’t with a bit weak grammar with my whole heart.

पुलिस, वे हमारे परिवार ही नहीं, बल्कि इस राष्ट्र के लिए भी रीढ़ की हड्डी की तरह हैं। आज का दिन पुलिस स्थापना दिवस सभी पुलिस वालों के नाम है। न सिर्फ आज, मैं हर दिन यह महसूस करती हूं कि पुलिस विभाग ही एक ऐसा विभाग है, जो हर संकटघड़ी में अपनी ड्यूटी करता है, लेकिन उन्हें इस ड्यूटी के लिए प्रशंसा कम और आलोचना ज्यादा मिलती है।
पुलिस वालों के परिवारों के लिए हर दिन बहुत डरावना होता जा रहा है और राष्ट्र के लिए भी। पुलिस लोगों की जिंदगियों से खतरा कम करने और उनकी सुरक्षा के लिए भरसक हर प्रयास कर रही है और इसके बावजूद इन परिस्थितियों में भी उन्हें भीड़ का विरोध भी झेलना पड़ रहा है, वही भीड़ पुलिस को चोट पहुंचा रही है।
कुछ लोगों को लगता है कि मेरे ऐसे विचार इसलिए हैं कि मैं एक पुलिस वाले की बेटी हूं, तो ऐसा गलत है। मैं हर उस विभाग का सम्मान करती हूं, जो इस कठिन समय में भी अपने घर और परिवार से दूर रहकर पूरी षिद्दत से अपनी ड्यूटी कर रही हैं।
मुझे कभी-कभी गुस्सा आता है कि पुलिस को गलियों को घूम-घूम कर देष के लोगों को उनकी ही सुरक्षा के लिए घर में ही रहने की हिदायत देनी पड़ी है। जबकि खुद की सुरक्षा के लिए घर पर रहना इतना भी कठिन नहीं है। तो फिर क्यों पुलिस को इस प्रकार से लोगों को समझाना पड़ता है। मुझे समझ नहीं आता कि क्या हमारे देष के लोग इतने लापरवाह और अषिक्षित है कि वे होने वाले नुकसान को भी नहीं समझ रहे हैं या फिर चिकित्सा और पुलिसकर्मी मूर्ख हैं कि इस महामारी के दौर में भी लोगों को समझाने की जरूरत पड़ रही है। खैर मैं समझना भी नहीं चाहती हूं। लेकिन हर पुलिसवाले को इस कठिन समय और परिस्थितियों में भी पूरी षिद्दत के साथ ड्यूटी करते देखकर उनका सम्मान और अहमितयत बढ़ जाती है।
मेरे 18 सालों में पुलिसवालों के लिए हर दिन सम्मान बढ़ा है। तब और ज्यादा बढ़ा है जब पुलिसवाले ड्यूटी पर रहते है, और देष में लोग होली, दीपावली, बैषाखी, ओणम, दुर्गापूजा जैसे पर्व अपने परिवार के साथ सुकून से मना पाते हैं।
मुझे याद है किसी दूसरे शहर ड्यूटी पर रहने के कारण मेरे पिता कई बार मेरे जन्मदिन पर भी नहीं आ सके और कई बार मुझे मेरे जन्मदिन पर वीडियो कॉल के जरिए ही विष किया है। मैंने लोगों को यह कई बार कहते सुना है कि पुलिस वालों के बच्चे बहुत बिगड़े होते हैं। लेकिन मैंने कभी किसी को इसका जवाब नहीं दिया, सिर्फ मेरे मन में यही सवाल हमेषा आया कि अगर पुलिस वाले नहीं होते तो क्या वे सुकून से घर-परिवार के साथ दीपावली, होली या कोई दूसरा त्योहार मना सकते थे।
मैं सभी पुलिसवालों को पूरे सम्मान के साथ सलाम करती हूं।
